WE ARE GLAD THAT YOU ARE HERE! The Bible contains many controversial, and even contradictory, verses, but most priests and pastors are reluctant to talk about them. This blog is dedicated to discuss those subjects, and bring them to your attention, without discrediting the Bible, or questioning the existence of God.

YOU ARE IN THE RIGHT PLACE! While explaining these controversial subjects, we will consider that the Bible was written by dozens of authors over 16 centuries. Accordingly, parts of it are difficult to understand because we live in a different time and place. Nevertheless, we believe that the Bible is historically sound, intellectually inspiring, and containing everything needed to understand those matters. When it is taught clearly, its apparent contradictions and controversies are understood. We will make rational arguments about it to offer comfort to our readers, and to devastate those of the skeptics, who do not want to be hampered by a rigid moral standard. They want the freedom of conscience to do as they please without guilt or restraint. Such people would do well to ponder this one question, what if the Bible is right?

Atheists, agnostics, and Bible skeptics attempt to use the Bible as a tool to deny the existence of God, or accuse Him of cruelty. They confidently assure us that God despises His creation, and punishes it without thinking about it. They believe they can represent God by showing those verses that describe His punishments, while disregarding His reasons for doing so. This is particularly true when children die. Most of their interpretations and conclusions are wrong. They feel they can reject the teachings of the Scriptures as the word of God, while attacking the claims contained in it. It is a contradiction in itself to proclaim that everything in the Bible is false, while using the Book to prove their assertions. They cite specific verses out of context, disregarding whether they should be interpreted allegorically, literally or symbolically. They will do whatever it takes in order to make their case against God.

We will debunk these misinterpretations of the Book, while staying faithful to the word of God. We accept the description given by Moses of God: “He is the Rock; His works are perfect, and all His ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong; faithful and just is He” (Deuteronomy 32:4, 5). Furthermore, we believe in the Creator’s ownership of all living things, and His sovereign rights over them, which includes the right to take the life of children. Because we fear God, we will not second guess Him; we are not equipped to question His judgments. However, the atheist, having rejected the divine standard, sees himself as moral ruler with the authority to conclude that it is wrong for a parent (God) to kill his children. For their own reasons, they don’t have ethical quarrels with abortionists, or with those who have practiced horrendous acts of genocide. They pride their friendship with tyrants and other criminals who have used the Bible to justify killing millions in the name of God. Just look at the many who have defended the likes of Mao Tse Tung, Stalin, Hitler, Pol-Pot, and Castro. These regimes have demonstrated what happens when such anti-God models are followed.

While we do not pretend to know all of God’s motivations and purposes for enacting various judgments, we can know what the Scriptures explicitly and implicitly teach: that these punishments were mostly caused by disobedience to His rules. God does not arbitrarily and capriciously kills people. Ironically, the skeptic prides himself in his elevation of reason over faith. However, their methods and arguments are far from reasonable, often based upon faulty premises and misinformation. In our opinion, it is truly irrational to think that man has no moral standard higher than himself. Rather than devoting his time to a critical examination of the evidences supporting the Bible’s historicity, they prefer to center their discussions on God’s treatment of His creatures. They use the biblical texts related to the physical fate of children affected by God’s judgment to disallow the Creator’s right to take their lives while disregarding the texts that speak to their spiritual destiny.  They rarely cite any of the Bible passages or principles that explain God’s judicial decisions.

Although non-believers emphasize God’s punitive actions, they fail to mention His patience and love in leading sinners to repentance. You see; the Bible will not make you a good person; you have to do the job yourself, but it will guide you to become a better person every day. God just wants to warn you that if you disobey his rules, your punishment will be certain when you face him on judgment day.
